Thanks to Dries and Chantell Marinus for verfying the accuracy of Empangeni Golf Course in Kwa-Zulu Natal that was originally mapped via Google Earth.

2011 Wegolf course mapping review

Our aim is to have 100% of South African golf courses on our database. We had a look at how we did in 2011

We started 2011 with 231 courses on our SA course list of which 178 (77.06%) were verified as accurate.

We ended 2011 with 277 courses on our SA course list of which 218 (78.70%) were verified as accurate.

So, 46 new courses for the year and our amount of verified courses increasing by 40… Thanks to everybody who helped to make the Wegolf experience better during 2011.

Thanks to Murray Donkin for re-mapping Umkomaas Golf Club using the the updated Google Earth image of the course and then physically verifying the accuracy of the points of interest today while playing there today.

This takes the number of verified courses on our SA course list to 218(78.70%) out of 277.
